Terms of use
Last updated: 2026-08-01
MatchPick is a free sports prediction game, open to everyone. These terms describe what you can expect from the service, and what it expects from you.
Purpose and acceptance
These terms govern access to and use of MatchPick. Creating an account constitutes full acceptance of them; if you do not accept them, do not use the service.
A free service, with no money involved
Access is free of charge. MatchPick is neither gambling nor betting: no stake is placed, and no winnings in money or in kind are distributed. Points, rankings and trophies have no market value.
The odds shown are used solely to compute points. They are neither advice nor an incitement to bet.
Your account
Signing up requires a valid email address and a nickname. You undertake to provide accurate information and to keep your password confidential: any action taken from your account is deemed to be yours.
One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to influence a ranking is grounds for sanction.
Your nickname is permanent
Your nickname is chosen once, at sign-up, and cannot be changed afterwards. This is a deliberate choice: the nickname is the only identity visible in the game, and its stability keeps rankings and history readable.
Only moderation can step in: if a nickname is deemed inappropriate, it is blocked and you will be asked to choose a new one at your next sign-in.
The game and its rules
The principle: pick the winner of every match in a matchday, in an order that counts — one mistake stops your grid from being analysed further. Points depend on the odds frozen when the matchday opens.
The detailed rules — jokers, matchday coefficient, rankings — are presented in the game. They may change for game balance; matchdays already open are never recalculated retroactively.
Grids are frozen for good at closing time, set at the kick-off of the matchday's first match.
Conduct and moderation
The following are prohibited: insulting, hateful, discriminatory, sexual or unlawful content in a nickname, an avatar, a clan name or a message; impersonation; any attempt to distort the game or disrupt the service.
Depending on severity, moderation may warn, temporarily suspend or permanently ban an account. A ban does not erase game data: past rankings stay consistent.
You can report content from the site. Every report is reviewed.
Clans
A clan is run by its own administrators, who manage its membership and settings. Site moderation does not interfere with that governance; it steps in only in case of inappropriate content or abuse, and may then rename or dissolve a clan.
Cookies
MatchPick only sets cookies strictly necessary to its operation: keeping you signed in, remembering your chosen language, and protecting the sign-up form against bots.
These cookies are exempt from consent under the regulations: that is why no banner is forced on you. No advertising or third-party analytics cookie is set.
Should a non-essential cookie ever be introduced, a consent banner would be put in place beforehand and these terms would be updated.
Your personal data
The processing of your data is described in the privacy policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
Intellectual property
The service, its code, its texts and its visual identity remain the property of the publisher. Your right of use is personal and non-exclusive, limited to normal use of the game.
Availability and changes
The service is provided as is, with no guarantee of continuous availability. The publisher may develop it, suspend access for maintenance, or discontinue it permanently, giving players reasonable notice.
Ending the relationship
You can delete your account at any time from your settings. Deletion deactivates the account immediately, then anonymises it automatically after the period stated in the privacy policy.
The publisher may terminate an account in the event of a serious or repeated breach of these terms.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be amended. The last update date appears at the top of the page; in the event of a significant change, you will be informed and invited to review them.
Governing law
These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, an amicable solution will be sought first, in particular through the contact form, before any legal action.
